Responsibilities
1. Level 1/2 Technical Support onsite at customers around Calgary
2. Customer Projects
3. Some After Hours on-call – on rotating schedule.

Compensation
1. According to experience and certifications, between 40k-60k when fulltime.

Work Hours
1. Schedule to be determined according to Customer needs and Technician’s schedule.
2. Approx 15-20 hours/week to start. Potential for full time work after initial probation.

Educational Requirements:
1. Must have MCP, MCSE or equivelant.
2. Nice to have – Computer Science Degree

Experience/Technical Skills:
1. 3-4 years of IT service experience in a standard corporate network enviornment.
2. Throughough understanding of the following: Windows Server 2003/2000, Active Directory, Group Policy, Exchange 2003, SBS 2003, Windows XP Pro, Windows Vista, Office 2003/2007, Sharepoint.
3. Basic working knowledge of: Linux (various) OS, various industry standard network and server/corporate applications and devices.
4. Ability to study and learn/understand non-standard applications and other that require support.

Other Requirements – Excellent english (fluent) – Must have transportation to and from office, and to and from customer sites. – Friendly and approachable. – Personable, humble. – Self motivated problem solver, need to be able to find/research solutions without the initial help of others. – Management/Leadership qualities. – Must follow procedures.

OVERVIEW OF POSITION
This unique opportunity is responsible for the initial installation and on-going maintenance of PPM (Personal People Meters) Encoding equipment in Network Television and Radio locations, as well as other non-broadcast encoding applications.
Responsibilities:
• Manages the installation and maintenance of equipment at identified stations
• Partners with technical contacts at broadcast facilities to organize placement of equipment for proper operation
• Ensures that equipment is installed correctly and evaluations are completed by the broadcasters on schedule
• Confirms the proper operation of encoding equipment
• Responds to, and corrects encoding problems according to established schedules and protocols
• Evaluates procedures to ensure that they remain current with changes in technology and/or regulatory changes
• Provides support and technical advice to broadcasters on various issues
• Liaises with suppliers/manufacturers for technical information, parts and replacement equipment
• Orders supplies for service calls and installations
• Investigates and repairs faulty units by examining equipment returned from the field, testing and restoring them, as required
• Makes routine decisions within the scope of the job related to encoding or monitoring and refers unusual situations to the Chief Technical Officer
• Must be available to work on short notice, including evenings and weekends

Qualifications:
A post-secondary degree in engineering (or equivalent) and a minimum of five years’ related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Have the ability to coordinate multiple individuals to accomplish installation and operational goals. Have a working technical knowledge of TV and radio broadcast facilities, professional audio/video equipment, broadcast system connections, AES and SDI signals and related environments. The successful candidate must be able to work responsibly with minimal supervision to accomplish encoding installations and capable of troubleshooting technical and operational broadcast systems.
