Position Overview
TP Systems Ltd. is a technology consulting firm, providing business solutions to both the private and public sector for over 30 years.

Our client is seeking a COGNOS ETL Developer to provide reporting expertise to project team providing enhancements and BI reporting services to their Data warehouse environment.

Skills and Experience
• Hands-on experience with the Cognos toolset including Data Manager and Report Net 8 BI (Impromptu, Power Play, and Metrics Manager are desirable).
• Experience in the Management of ETL and BI components and Working within Data Warehouse environments
• Knowledge of at least one: Oracle DBMS or MS SQL Server DBMS 2000 or 2005
• Experience with the Operation and configuration of IBM AIX v 4.3.4 and 5L, including shell script, crontab, system performance monitoring, and file management
• Experience with the Operation and configuration of Microsoft Windows (Windows 2003 Server and XP Desktop)
• Clear understanding of Database concepts: relational databases, management, design and operation
• Working knowledge of Business Intelligence concepts such as:
1. Dimensional Modeling
2. ER modeling
3. Data quality issues and remediation techniques
4. Metadata management
5. ETL program design
6. Portal content presentation techniques
7. Report design and development
8. BI appropriate testing and deployment techniques
• Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
• Demonstrated problem analysis and resolution skills
• Ability to prepare technical specifications
