POSITION OUTLINE:
Reporting to the Assistant Dean, Continuing Studies the position plays a key role in promoting Continuing Studies among its internal and external stakeholders and the varied and complex communities served. The Director provides professional strategic and organizational leadership to the marketing activities of Continuing Studies.

As a senior advisor, works closely with the Assistant Dean and liaises with Program Directors and Department Heads in Continuing Studies, the Media & Public Relations and Advancement departments of the University in the development, execution and management of integrated strategic marketing plans and initiatives.
These include strategic marketing (product, price, distribution, and promotion) plans, integrated brand communications (print, broadcast, public relations, sales promotion, direct and internet marketing) for multiple Continuing Studies credit, non-credit programs and contract services departments and programs.

As a senior member of the Continuing Studies team, attends and provides expert advice and direction at various Continuing Studies committees. In addition, works closely with Program Directors to provide recommendations on the marketing of recruitment events, guest speakers and other special events within Continuing Studies.

Business objectives associated with this role include: – Enhancing the profile of Continuing Studies locally, nationally and internationally – Positioning Continuing Studies as the premier continuing education provider for career development, community engagement and personal enrichment on the local, national and global stage – Increasing the quality and number of qualified applications to Continuing Studies programs – Strengthening communication internally among all programs and departments – Maximizing marketing activities and initiatives to increase productivity and optimize return on investment.

QUALIFICATIONS: – MBA or an acceptable level of education, training and experience. – 5 years related senior professional experience in marketing, advertising, communications and internet marketing. – In depth understanding of brand development, creative and media strategy, web development and direct marketing. – Exceptional marketing and public relations skills. – Demonstrated leadership, teamwork and human resource management skills. – Ability to work in a fast-paced environment exercising mature judgment and a high level of diplomacy and discretion. – Highly collaborative; ability to work consensually with cross-functional teams representing various constituencies within SFU Continuing Studies. – Superior oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. – Ability to work on a number of different initiatives concurrently. – Proven ability to independently set and accomplish goals, establish priorities and meet deadlines with minimal direction. – Excellent financial management and administration skills.

SALARY RANGE: $70,377 – $84,041 per annum
START DATE: ASAP
