What we will ask of you:

Working closely with the Research and Development Group, the QA Manager is responsible for the leadership of the Quality Assurance Group including (where necessary) all objectives of the QA Team Lead roles.

The QA Manager is responsible for establishing procedures for maintaining high standards of quality of the FINCAD products and web services based on company needs and state of the art product development.

The QA Manager :
• Verifies the quality of each product release
• Organizes and promotes company-wide quality improvement efforts.
• Supervises the work of the QA team.
• Provides oversight of both Toolkit and Web Systems products.

Accountabilities will include:
• Establishes guidelines and procedures for testing of products and services.
• Ensures test plans and test cases are created for each product release.
• Owns the defect tracking system (Test Track) as well as the processes that surround its use.
• Primary contact for technical questions to the QA Team.
• Resolve technical questions/roadblocks for QA Team members.
• Assist VP, Development in the prioritization and estimation of analytics work, and the subsequent planning/monitoring activities needed to ensure products and projects are completed on schedule.
• Oversee professional development/training of QA Team, to ensure team competency and to act as a mentor where necessary.
• Assist in the hiring process with the goal of attracting and retaining outstanding talent to the QA Group.
• Report quality metrics to the Leadership team.
• Represents QA in release and iteration planning meetings

Requirements:

• University degree, diploma or certificate.
• 5+ years in Quality Assurance, a minimum of 2 in a management or supervisory role.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Works well in pressure situations
• Excellent planning and organizational abilities
• Experience managing a team
• Proficient in all concepts of the financial derivatives market, in particular financial instrument valuations.
• Familiar with Microsoft Excel, Visual Basic, SQL and web technologies is an asset
• Thorough Knowledge of QA processes and methodologies.
• Excellent knowledge of the Software Development lifecycle, particularly Agile methodologies
• Experience with automation tools a plus
