Are you passionate about creating the best possible user experience? The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong sense of design in respect to creating simple and aesthetically pleasing interfaces based on user-center design principles. You will be responsible for all stages of user experience design throughout the product lifecycle ensuring a compelling look and feel that meets branding, business and user requirements (spanning user interface, interaction and visual design).

Responsibilities

• Working closely with a cross-functional team to assess product requirements, the designer will translate requirements into concepts and user design. This will include understanding interaction models and user task flows, and will require creation of screen designs, and UI details to promote ease of use and to optimize the user experience.
• Organize these design details into a full user experience design specification to be used as an iterative blueprint for development.
• Take responsibility for the user interface style guide.
• Work closely with product management to better understand the user by testing the usability of features and conceptual designs
• Have a good understanding of execution to influence a rich user experience for a global market.
• Be self-motivated and able to make logical decisions to ensure the overall success of the project by creating designs that seamlessly address customer and business concerns and objectives
• Keep abreast of current design tools, techniques and methodologies
• Be willing to challenge traditional design thinking and look for new and innovative ways to approach design projects and improve streamline the user experience

Requirements

• Have practical experience employing user centered design methods. Experience doing so in an agile environment would be an asset.
• Degree in user interaction/interface/human factors or similar field or equivalent experience
• 2+ years of professional software development experience required
• Demonstrated experience designing user interfaces that have been released to customers
• Proficiency in several of Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop/Fireworks, Macromedia Director/Flash/Dreamweaver, HTML, Adobe Flex, AJAXwireframe tools or similar UI tools. Experience with Morae or equivalent logging tools would be an asset.
• Ability to respond and deliver quickly in an extremely fast paced environment
