Job Description:

Our client is seeking a talented, Technical Product Manager at the intermediate or senior level to add to their Product Marketing Team.

They are a well funded, mature startup in the B2B space with an under-served $3+ billion market, they are looking for someone to play a critical role in the evolution and development of their existing and new products in telephony (VoIP and PSTN), data management and networking. The product is a hardware, software and hosted services offering targeted at small and medium sized businesses.

The Product Manager will work closely with the engineering and sales teams and will be responsible for the entire product life-cycle planning, from research and business case to product retirement. This role will responsible for driving and supporting the product portfolio to ensure continued and sustained sales growth.

Key areas of responsibility will include:

• Product Definition & Requirements Specification - Owns the development of product definitions for new products and/or major product enhancements. Define product feature requirements. Work with product development to prioritize features and resolve resource conflicts.

• Market Research – Collects customer requirements from internal and external customers. Interfaces with customers primarily at the end-user level. Clearly defines and prioritizes customer requests as part of a funnel of potential products/enhancements.

• Product Positioning & Competitive Analysis - Defines and documents customer value proposition for products. Understands competitive landscape and differentiates products from competitive offerings.

This role will also be responsible for:
• Product white papers
• Developing sales collateral with Product Marketing
• Product roadmap planning
• Defect tracking and management
• Risk tracking
• Partner Products
• Supported Products Program
• Contribute to product planning and strategy

Requirements:

You will have a proven track record and 5+ years experience in Product Management.
• strong knowledge of VoIP/Telecom
• strong knowledge of data networking
• strong knowledge of wireless networking would be an advantage
• strong knowledge of network security would be an asset
• strong knowledge of open source would be an advantage
• strong knowledge of modern web technologies, web services model would be an advantage
