Job Description:

IT MindFinders is conducting a search for a Project Manager / Business Analyst for our client located in the south end of the lower mainland. This position will report to the Vice President Services & Planning.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Plans, designs, develops and launches efficient business, financial, and operations systems
• Provides analysis, definition and direction to system development and maintenance activities
• Ensures correct business functionality, requirements, and industry standards are addressed within the application systems
• Applies proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to maximize the benefit of IT system investments
• Builds effective relationships with business units
• Meet with system owners and end users to define business, financial and operations requirements and system goals, and identify and resolve systems issues
• Leads design sessions in prototyping new systems
• Conducts research on software and hardware products
• Responds to questions and influences the client regarding current and potential system inputs, processes, and outputs
• Conducts research and analysis into the nature, effect and results of system problems
• Develops detailed business user requirements, system documentation, workflow procedures, and data modeling
• Negotiates plans, time frames and trade-offs
• Develops Project Charters, budgets, work plans, and status reports and manages project deliverables
• Manages and leads requested system changes and develops detailed specifications for implementation.
• Ensures current and accurate system documentation, coordinates and/or performs testing of system modifications, and develops, provides, or coordinates system training, educational tools and materials
• Creates systems models, specifications, diagrams and charts to provide direction to system developers
• Executes system quality control practices and procedures
• Acts as a liaison with outside vendors
• Facilitates meetings and presentations on project items or issues.

MUST HAVE SKILLS:

• University degree in the field of business administration, computer science, accounting, or management information systems
• Minimum 5 years business analysis/project manager experience
• Certification in Business Analysis and/or Project Management is preferred
• Previous Financial Services or Banking Institution experience
• Proven experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products
• Extensive practical knowledge in importing data for use in report software, spreadsheets, graphs, and flow charts
• Proven experience in the operation and analysis of database hardware software, and standards as well as date retrieval methodologies
• Process and Data Modeling Experience
• Excellent written English and oral communication skills
• Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills
• Excellent listening and interpersonal skills
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
• Strong customer service orientation
• Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
