NATURE & SCOPE OF WORK

Under the general direction of the Director, the Enterprise Architecture
Manager will assist Pacific Blue Cross/BC Life Claims Services in
meeting its overall business goals and objectives through the most
effective use of information technology. The role is central to the
coordination and implementation of the organization’s ongoing strategic
technology and architectural activities.
The Enterprise Architecture Manager responsibilities will entail
developing and promoting comprehensive, flexible and business-aligned
enterprise architecture, presentation of application and data architecture
solutions, championing compliance, working with stakeholders and
project teams, enterprise security, data integrity and effective systems
deployment and integration.

Associated responsibilities include maintaining relationships with
technology suppliers, researching emerging technology and executing
development activities.

DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent knowledge
• An outstanding track record of success as a Systems Architect may
be considered equivalent to the requirement for formal education
• Experience of the Rational Unified Process, Information Technology
Infrastructure Library
• Experience with formal Enterprise Architecture frameworks
• Experience using Entity Relationship modeling, Unified Modeling
Language and Object Oriented Analysis and Design
• Minimum of 10 years progressive experience in software and
systems architecture, systems analysis and design, systems
development and implementation
• Minimum of 5 years experience directly relevant to information
systems in the insurance or financial industry would be a definite asset
