full time Software Distribution Engineer

at Ajilon in Vancouver

The Software Distribution Engineer will be focused on the deployment of all applications and Operating system images for our client. The role will include application packaging and desktopserver deployments with an emphasis on following the processes defined for Configuration and release management standards

· Packaging of all applications using Adminstudio
· Application deployment using Microsoft SMS
· The deployment of client & server OS images
· Resolve technical and process issues within Software Distribution
· Assist in the definition and implementation of automated processes and procedures
· Develop scripts and batch files to automate profile build process
· Oversee PC build process and assure build configuration baselines are being maintained according to the defined profiles
· Support the deployment and production phases
· Provide software-troubleshooting support to Help Desk
· Assist with configuration management
· Provide training for support personnel working with the software distribution automated build process
· Documentation of procedures and best practices
· Refine and update software distribution operational procedures
· Use change control to track packages and scripting modifications
· Assist in maintaining accurate and timely documentation to reflect work status and project progress
· Previous experience in desktop deployments is required
· Previous Experience in a similar position
· Experience with Adminstudio or other packaging software suites
· Experience in SMS administration is a must
· Scripting with SMS and VBScript is an asset
· Strong PC LAN/WAN Networking skills
· Good knowledge of supporting and configuring Windows XP, Windows 2003
· Good communication and interpersonal skills
· Good documentation skills
· Ability to work well under pressure
· Ability to work in a timelines and milestones driven project environment
· Ability to work as part of a team
· Ability to learn and work in a dynamic environment
· Ability to work in a multi-cultural and international environment
· Fluent in English
