Job Description:

WebTech Wireless is looking for a talented Technical Writer.

Reporting to the Training & Documentation Manager, this position is responsible for creating technical product documentation, for both software and in-vehicle hardware, in the form of user guides, installation guides, configuration guides and quick reference items.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead overall technical product documentation planning and implementation
Liaise with various department members including engineering, manufacturing, field services, technical support, manufacturing
Responsible for creation of hardware installation documents and training materials
Creation and maintenanceof online help and Knowledge base
Create quick reference items and hot sheets for MDT, ProMiles
Create and maintain Training Materials
Liase with translation vendor and oversee translation process
Review and edit materials from other departments, including Human Resources, as required
Must be a self-motivator with proven ability to take ownership and leadership

EXPERIENCE / SKILLS / EDUCATION:

Experience:
Minimum 2 years experience. 3 to 5+ years experience preferred.

Skills:
Excellent writing and editing skills
Experience with RoboHelp, Adobe Captivate, Photoshop and Illustrator
Experience with Adobe FrameMaker required
Ability to work independently or as a part of a team
Be able to grasp complex technical information and communicate into multiple audiences
Be adaptable and able to learn independently and quickly
Have strong problem solving skills and the ability to develop work-around solutions
Have strong peer-review and editorial skills
Detail-oriented and organized

Education:
University degree or equivalent post-secondary education
Have a minimum of three years experience in journalism, marketing, software documentation, or a related field
