The Fiber Specialist will work within the overall Network Planning & Provisioning Department and will be responsible for the ongoing management of A2B's fiber network within an assigned geographic area. Requests for fiber will come from many internal and external sources. Careful analysis is required when analyzing fiber availability as well as designing splicing work orders. Some splicing work orders are done by external companies, so project management skills are required to ensure that these work orders are completed on-time and on-budget.

Responsibilities include:

- Designing splicing work order packages to add and remove sites on the fiber network.
- Managing all aspects of an assigned fiber network. This includes documenting changes, auditing sites as required, and ensuring that the overall network is utilized in an efficient manner.
- Managing an ongoing relationship with clients and Right-of-Way providers.
- Estimating timelines and costs for adding sites to the fiber network.
- Ensuring that the network is utilized in an efficient manner.
- Participating, as needed, as a technical expert in the preparation of proposals, contracts and other sales activity.
- Contributing to the development of strategies, policies and best practices for the department.
