Position Title: Installation Technician
Employment: Full Time, Permanent
Location: Vancouver
Remunerations: $35,000 – $40,000 / annum Experience Dependent

Novus Entertainment is an elite communications provider – supplying residential TV, Internet, and Phone service to downtown Vancouver.

Job Description: Technicians are responsible to perform the install function of Cable Television and High Speed Internet services, additional outlets, and equipment in Novus residential and commercial buildings. Novus Technicians must provide excellent customer service during appointments and interactions.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

· Install, diagnose, trouble shoot, and repair technical problems in a proficient manner.
· Ensure customer owned equipment (TV / VCR) are functioning properly and also program devices.
· Maintain records and submit documentation regarding calls as required by the company.
· Disconnect service as required.
· Promote Novus products and services.
· Install equipment including both coaxial and CAT-5.
· Obtain equipment from customers when needed.
· Demonstrated hands-on technical ability.
· Require strong communication skills – written and verbal.
· Able to handle unpleasant customer issues in a professional and tactful manner.
· Install DCT and train customers to operate.
· Perform other duties as required.
· Maintain work vehicle, tools and equipment.
· Must be able to use hand/power tools and testing equipment.
· Must be able to handle – bending, standing, climbing, lifting heavy objects (i.e. ladders)
· Require excellent analytical skills and ability to take initiative and prioritize.

Must be able to:

· PROVIDE SERVICE VEHICLE AS REQUIRED BY NOVUS VEHICLE POLICY.
· Work various shifts including days, nights and weekends. Also work overtime when necessary.
· Follow all company policies and procedures.
· Drive to and from Novus service buildings.

Qualifications:

· Minimum Grade 12 education.
· Computer knowledge in MS programs & Networking protocols an asset.
· Must possess a valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
· Technical CATV experience preferred but not required.
