Job Description:

Ballard’s Facilities Department has an immediate opportunity available for a Maintenance Technologist to join the Burnaby Operations Team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

· Developing and maintaining building system control plans and Preventative Maintenance System (PMS) plans,
· Maintaining building and utility distribution systems,
· Maintaining the mechanical infrastructure for the Research and Development, Test and Reliability and Production Departments,
· Executing energy-reduction initiatives,
· Assisting the implementation of new process development activities,
· Design and installation of services for new or relocated equipment,
· Updating facilities-related drawings and documentation,
· Providing orientation to outside contractors including safety procedures and
· Responding to building emergencies as a member of the Emergency Response Team.

Requirements:

· Relevant technology diploma or trade certification
· 3 to 5 years experience in a facility maintenance environment
· Experience in developing control plans and a working knowledge of Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA)
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Strong organization skills
· Customer focused
· Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning (HVAC) experience is an asset
