With a niche in Testing/QA/Verification, QA Labs offers its services in Test Automation, Test Planning, Testing, Consultancy and Training into verticals such as Telecom & Wireless, Game & Media, Life Sciences & Healthcare, Financials & Insurance and the Software Industry.

QA labs is looking for Sr /Intermediate Test Engineers working out of our offices or the clients office with the responsibility for testing one or more functional areas in the application and instrumental in the design and execution of test cases for application as follows:

Requirements:

  • Completed post-secondary, preferably in Computer Science, or related degree with emphasis on Sys Dev courses
  • Intermediate to Senior level QA skills and knowledge.

Min of 3 to 5 years of experience, preferably in more than one environment, so they have a variety of experiences to draw on.
Strong knowledge of QA cycle (including being able to identify the documentation expected to be available through the SDLC and ability to define the QA deliverables and their content, along the cycle)
Strong knowledge of the Defect life cycle
Experience in a larger mature QA environment that is process oriented

  • 2-3 years test case design experience and willingness to do more
  • 2-3 years test execution experience in a multi-tiered network environment and willingness to do more
  • 1-2 years doing requirements analysis and impact assessments
  • 1-2 years participating in test strategy formulation
  • Process orientation
  • Experience building test environments / servers in a testing role (i.e. not just at home)
Ability to swap and upgrade HW components Ability to install and troubleshoot SW installations independently
  • Accustomed to working in large organization

Experience with:
Web based applications (recent experience so browser and issues knowledge are current)
VSS
Mercury Quality Center
Rational Clear Quest
Windows XP (ability to describe it’s features and identify what is different from it to others like Vista;
ability to analyze how the different O/S may impact testing and an understanding of how to plan tests and strategies accordingly)
Virtual Servers (VM ware)
Oracle DB’s and SQL (familiarity with it’s features; ability to write queries and statements to facilitate DB verification for back-end testing.)
Applications running on multi-tiered networks (enough exposure to networking tools to be able to diagnose and resolve issues related to testing; i.e. can identify when a problem¡ is potentially caused by network settings or privilege issues etc.. before reporting it as an application defect)

Comfortable with:
Windows command line to run scripts
Graphical tools and jargon for image manipulation and processing

Experience with Medical Imaging an asset.
Experience in Medical systems and terminology an asset.
