The Business Support Analyst III (BSAIII) is responsible for: providing second level support and services to internal and external customers for WorkSafeBC business applications, business questions, systems enhancements, and project requests; educating or training customers on use of business applications and self-serve tools; and recording all support/service activities in a support desk tracking tool. The BSAIII is also responsible for: solving problems and making decisions that have a moderate to high level of complexity; communicating both in writing and verbally; maintaining technical skills and knowledge; contributing to and maintaining self-serve knowledge bases; and working on or leading projects and initiatives as requested.

In addition to meeting the necessary physical and performance standards, applicants must demonstrate sufficient knowledge, skills and abilities as follows:

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, organize, or schedule people or tasks, to develop realistic action plans while being sensitive to time constraints, and to resource availability to meet project targets
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and influence the actions of others through demonstrated positive behaviour to achieve business outcomes and customer service goals
  • Demonstrated ability to appropriately prepare and present complex information in a clear and concise manner both verbally and in writing to a variety of audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to actively listen, question, and probe to ensure understanding
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with management, co-workers, clients, and work teams
  • Demonstrated ability to manage conflicts in a professional and respectful manner with a variety of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze information, anticipate and recognize problems and opportunities, creatively develop possible solutions, evaluate alternatives, and make viable recommendations and decisions using sound judgment
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and provide end user training and reference materials
  • General knowledge of applications and database concepts and their structures
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (including Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, analyze, and evaluate business and system requirements
  • Working knowledge of software installation, technical support, systems planning and development, systems implementation, knowledge management, or the facilitation of process improvements

Please note: Applicants must have a two-year diploma in a technology or technology-related field, as well as a minimum of 6 years of directly related experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience in one or more of the following: systems planning, systems implementation, systems evaluation, work process evaluation, or knowledge management.
