Software/Application Support Salary 50-65 Richmond . Permanent position


Required:
3-5 years of SQL language
Unix scripting.(which tools used eg awk, perl, shell etc)
The ideal candidate has a similar background in supporting APPLICATIONS OR SYSTEMS or Operations in either banking or transactional processing systems.



RESPONSIBILITIES:
Deliver technical support for transaction processing systems and applications that include point of sales terminals, web applications, communication gateways relational databases and report services.

FUNCTIONS:
• Troubleshoot and develop technical solutions to address applications and operations issues
• Manage backend processes to maintain product inventory from multiple product suppliers
• Support process to ensure accurate and timely customer reconciliation, sales invoicing and business reporting
• Work with developers to isolate and escalate software bugs
• Monitor application server to isolate and escalate performance issues
• Participate in new products, customers and program provisioning
• Develop ad hoc queries to deliver reports at customer and internal department requests
• Develop tools and applications to streamline operations and enhance processes

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
• A bachelor degree in computer science / engineering or equivalent work experience
• Two or more years of complex software applications and/or systems support experience
• Two or more years of working experience with SQL language
• Two or more years of experience with Unix/Linux systems and shell scripting/programming
• Working experience with advanced Unix tools and awk scripting language
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Exceptional troubleshooting skills
• Experience with billing, reconciliation and financial transaction processing or banking is a plus
• Programming experience in (C, Java, Perl) is a plus
