DPoint Technologies is a privately held company focused on the development and selling of heat and humidification products for Fuel Cells and the HVAC markets. The company is based in Vancouver, British Columbia with its testing facilities at the National Research Councils Institute for Fuel Cell Innovation and the University of British Columbia.

Fuel Cell humidifiers provide heat and humidity to the incoming oxidant fuel stream of fuel cells, which is critical to the performance and reliability. Energy Recovery Ventilators(ERV’s) improve the energy efficiency and indoor air quality of buildings. DPoint is developing humidifier products that have a significant cost, size and performance advantage over competing humidification products.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

• Modification, set-up, maintenance and safe operation of fuel cell and ERV test equipment;
• Operation of test equipment to evaluate performance of humidifiers;
• Development of test plans and analysis of test data and producing reports and graphing of test results;
• Preparing presentations and reporting status to the Dpoint team;
• Design and building of test stations and testing apparatus;
• Investigaion of accelerated testing techniques;

• Deliver products and projects on budget on schedule and to the design specification

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering or Engineering Technologist;
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills;
• Takes initiative and strong work ethic;
• Positive attitude and ability to work in a team;
• Hands-on with mechanical aptitude;
• Excellent communication skills;
• Previous fuel cell and/or testing experience would be an asset;
• Strong academic credentials;
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, etc.);
• 3D modeling experience (ie. Solidworks);

• Ability to work safe around hydrogen, high voltage testing and manufacturing equipment

Job Location

• 30% at DPoint’s head office in downtown Vancouver

• 70% at DPoint test lab at the NRC Fuel Cell Innovation Centre(near UBC)
