Job Description
The Sys Admin's role is to deliver support for Quotemedia software and data products. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can make immediate contributions to our daily operations. You will have the opportunity to work in a large linux centric multi site environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of duties related to network and application monitoring and capacity management
• Perform tasks such as scheduled changes, tuning and maintenance
• Analyze and diagnose problems
• Assist developers with projects and day-to-day tasks
• Administer and configure firewalls, routers, switches, load balancers
• Administer web, database, application, DNS and email servers
• Work with customer support team to investigate customer reported issues as a 2nd level technical support contact.
• Work with the development and quality assurance teams to plan and test software deployments.
• Liaison with data vendors on operational issues as required.
• Communicate with high value customers during operational issues.
• Improve documentation of our systems.

Requirements
• Linux/Unix experience.
• A quick thinker who can problem solve effectively in an independent and timely manner.
• Exceptional communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable juggling multiple priorities and working in a fast paced environment.
• Proven ability to work independently and as a team member.
• A "can-do" attitude and willing to take extra steps to get things done.
• Shell scripting.
• Linux/Solaris administration experience.
• Cisco experience.

Nice to have skills
• Java (j2ee).
• Some knowledge of the Financial Industry and market products.
• Cisco Certification (e.g. CCNA, CCNP, etc.).
• Oracle experience.
