JOB DESCRIPTION

Strong experience in system administration of LINUX servers.

The Linux Administrator will have extensive experience in installing, maintaining, and monitoring multiple servers and the applications that run on the servers. This includes operating system and hardware and application installation, monitoring and backups. This position requires not only technical skills, but strong communication skills as well. The ideal candidate should have experience in the development and implementation of standards and process in an enterprise environment

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Linux: various flavors
Hardware configuration knowledge on a variety of platforms
Apache based web services; including cgi, php and other scripting support
Email services provided by sendmail and Postfix
Strong DNS experience - BIND
Strong understanding of TCP networking and common protocols
Network setup and configuration experience
Shell scripting, IPTables and CVS
Experience in programming languages such as Perl and Python
Excellent skills with MySQL database administration; experience with tiered replication, clustering, server tuning, etc.
Experience in clustering and massive deployment administration
Server and Kernel compilation and configuration, Server Patching
Performance tuning and Monitoring of Servers and Services
Strong knowledge of enterprise backup, clustering, and high-availability
Strong overall understanding of complex storage technologies (SAN or NAS)
Disaster Recovery Planning
Good familiarity with monitoring tools
Good familiarity with source control systems
General familiarity with Windows Server environments, such as Active Directory and Exchange
General familiarity with using Windows in an office environment
Documentation of technical designs and procedures

Working with various departments to determine hardware/software requirements
Must be able work successfully in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment, and effectively multi-task multiple priorities in a team-oriented environment.
Candidates should possess excellent written/verbal communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills

Position starts from Contract to permanent
Part time to full time (Depends on your skills and availability)
Must be available some early mornings or Some evening and weekend hours as necessary to get the job done.
