Senior Customer Support Engineer

Bycast StorageGRID™ solutions combine the power of grid computing with intelligent Information Lifecycle Management to optimize the storage and transmission of large volumes (petabytes) of fixed-content data.

You will:

* Monitor operations of our Customer StorageGRID’s * Take ownership of product issues, ensuring prompt resolution and ongoing support to our customers via telephone and email support * Perform support level 2 investigations, upgrades, and conduct regular maintenance on customer grids * Work with internal teams to escalate and resolve customer issues * Provide direction to customer support engineers

You are a skilled troubleshooter, with experience and skills in the following areas:

* Linux Administration (installation, maintenance and tuning) * Customer support process and applications * Understand networking/distributed computing environment concepts * Experience with large scale distributed computing systems * Experience with mission critical software * Strong written and verbal communications

Additional desired experience and skills:

* Experience with HP/IBM servers, RAIDs and Fiberchannel * Understanding of SQL based RDBMS * Knowledge of TCP/IP * Knowledge of Windows Active Directory environments * Experience with scripting languages * Supervisory skills

Qualifications:

* Minimum 3 years customer support or integration background including experience providing work direction * Minimum Diploma in CS, EE or related field. Bachelors in this area is preferred.

Travel:

* Not required

Along with your customer service experience, you are ready to move into a lead role, and eventually move towards a managerial role. We expect you to have a drive for perfection and a desire to succeed. The work is challenging and ever changing, so an ability to constantly adapt and multi-task is essential. An ability to communicate concisely and clearly is critical. Finally, you must be a good team player, and have a strong desire to be a key part of an exciting, young and growing company.
