full time Field Technician

at Spherion in Vancouver

One of Canada’s leaders in Media Research is currently seeking a Field Technician who will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of meter equipment into homeowners televisions throughout Vancouver, Lower Mainland with the occasional trip to Whistler and the Island.

Note: This is a contract position ending approx. August 2009 with the possibility of being extended for a short period of time.

Note: This position requires the flexibility of some installations either in the evenings after 5:00pm and/or on the weekends.

Responsibilities:

-work out of and maintain a home office environment and adhere to strict deadlines
-scheduling installation appointments with homeowners at their convenience
-flexible for evening and weekend installations
-be able to plan ahead and have good time management skills
-good customer service and communications skills
-maintain good interdepartmental relations with other employees
-responsible for yearly routine checks in all homes within your field area
-performs other tasks as assigned by management

Skills:

-Diploma as an Electronic Technician or equivalent
-Strong organizational, problem solving and communications skills
-Excellent ability to resolve technical problems related to television sets and cable hook up
-Proven ability to work well under pressure and meet daily deadlines
-Must have excellent English oral and written communication skills
-Good computer experience for possible television integration
-Excellent driving record and good working vehicle
-Flexibility to work evenings and weekends

Note: Qualified candidates will be subject to a criminal background check due to the nature of the role (you will be entering people’s homes). You will also need to have a clean drivers abstract.
